" Marion Indians Youth Baseball Code of Conduct "

In order to advance the principles of fair sportsmanship and to promote mutual respect among players, coaches, umpires and spectators the Marion Indians Youth Baseball Organization has established a Code of Conduct.

It will be the obligation of all program participants, spectators and volunteers, to comply with the terms and provisions of the Code of Conduct. Parents and Spectators agree as follows:
•    Parents and Spectators WILL support the players, coaches, umpires and league officials. •    Parents and Spectators WILL let the “coaches coach and the officials officiate”.....no exceptions.
•    Parents and Spectators WILL display and instill in all players, the principles of good sportsmanship and team play.
•    Parents and Spectators WILL respect the opponent and avoid any confrontation with
opposing players, spectators, or coaches.
•    Parents WILL make certain that their children show respect for all other players, coaches,
officials and spectators.
•    Parents and Spectators WILL treat all players, coaches and umpires fairly and with respect. •    Parents and Spectators WILL comply with the decisions of league officials.
•    Parents and Spectators WILL be drug and alcohol free while at any Marion Indians Youth
Baseball athletic event.

Our organization depends on each parent and spectator to represent us in a positive manner. While we all have our child’s best interest in mind, remember we are their role models. At times, we will feel the frustration, but it is important to remember that we all must strive to set a positive example for not only our own children, but also for each and every child who is a participant in our program. We should be supportive of our children and team whether they are successful or struggling for success.

Coaches are experienced and will make judgment decisions based on what they believe to be best for all. There may be situations which may require a conference between the coach and the parent. These are to be encouraged. It is important that both parties have a clear understanding of the other's position. If you have concerns to discuss with a coach, please do not attempt to confront a coach before or after a game or practice. These can be emotional times for both the parents and the coach. Meetings of this nature do not promote resolution.
Any situation regarding inappropriate behavior by coaches, players, umpires, parents or family members should be reported to a member of the Board of Directors. Any person violating the Code will be subject to administrative action, up to and including termination of their player’s and/or his or her own privilege to participate in, or attend, any or all Marion Indians Youth Baseball Organization activities.
